If you were prompted to Name the Planet/Homeworld “Giygas” is from, what would you name it?

Hm... How about Myrus? I would probably continue the trend with naming Magicant-related persons and places words that start with an M. Also, I'd probably try to give it a more outlandish and alien feel by adding a Y. I'm not really too good with names, though!

Yeah it’s a good name, on my end I’ve also thought about the second letter being a “Y”, although it would be a “Ly” rather than your proposed “My”.

In my manifestos for world building I usually defer the civilization that Giygas is from to be a parallel to the ancient real-life Lydian civilization, due to the similarities in naming conventions and how the Persian predecessor was seen in comparison by the early Greek philosophers who would later build the groundwork for the mainstream western ideals we still use today.

Ah, that makes sense! I reckon that the thematic of prophecies and destiny seen in Earthbound and can start to fit in with that kind of context! I took Latin for four years (I know it's not completely parallel to Greek, but there's a lot of similarities), and a lot of nouns that end in "Us" have been adopted for scientific purposes. That could go well with the sci-fi elements that surround Giygas too!
