If the Earthbound Series were Remade, would Character Customization and Costumes be a good idea?

Like how Lucas wore Claus's outfit and the others wore Pigmask outfits, if the Earthbound Series were Remade, would Character Customization and Costumes be a good idea?

If so, what costume designs do you wish to see the characters choose to wear?

Maybe if it's more fo a blank slate character like Ninten, but with characters with a lot more backstory and personality traits like Lucas it would be harder.

Maybe a more limited system on Mother 3 thats mostly pre made outfits like in gta vice city could work though

Lucas: I'm so sad that my mother died, that I don't have the strength to change out of this striped shirt.

I think for pre-established outfits, like Ness in his pajamas, could work as an outfit.
I wouldn't see there being too much customization overall though.

In Mother 3, I can imagine Kumatora feeling a bit uncomfortable using the Violet disguise.
Though Duster would definitely feel a bit jolly with his Lucky outfit.
