Again, if you wanna look in more detail, here's the old site:

This fangame was part of a trio of cancelled fangames.

It started development arround 2016 in RPG maker XP.

(2016 build)
In 2017 the project moved to RPG maker MV, where it started making progress. At first, Chapurin Kolorado of Magicant, the game's dev, expressed sadness on having to use this software since all the graphics would have to be adapted from 32x32 tiles into 48x48, but after spending some time with it,he started to like it because of the plugins being of easier use than the scripts from XP. This allowed him to add many features, including a fishing minigame.

(first MV test build)

Later that same year, his MV builds started to glitch out, making him lose all of the progress. He tried everything and it all failed. This forced him to mvoe backwards into VX ACE. He chose VX ACE because it had more accesible scripts than XP.

Early VX ACE build

VX ACE build during 2018.

There's 2018 me asking stuff xD
In 2018 drama ocurred between the devs of the fangame trio, leading Chapurin to pause the project indefinetivelly.
This drama ended with Chapurin's game being separated from the trio.
Later the project resumed. A demo was released may of 2018. During the development of the demo, the project was moved into the Earthbound essensials engine (https://forum.fangamer.com/forum/Fa...-3-Engine-RPG-Maker-VX-Ace/page/1#post2254662) wich can be noted in the sudden change of the battle UI into the default one from that engine here.

(May 2018 demo footage)
In the demo release, he accidentally posted the game's core files instead of the exported demo, allowing anyone to edit it. Luckily I told him (I was following development at the time and was the first to download it).
After all of this happenned, the dev grew stressed at the many issues the new engine brought and moved into Game Maker.

(early game maker build).
In early 2020, more footage was released under a new thread (https://forum.starmen.net/forum/Fan/Games/Mother-Hoshi-No-Ame)

(early 2020 build)
After this, the game entered a hiatus. Months passed and the dev started a new project, where this story ends.
