I would’ve expected Xenoblade Chronicles X to come on to the Nintendo Switch before Xenoblade Chronicles 3, so why do you think they are holding it back?
Common explanation is that they fear that the game won’t sell well, but I feel like Nintendo is in a comfortable place with the high performance of the Switch, that if even if they do a low-effort port of the Wii U game, that it would still sell well on the Switch simply due to the very high of gamers who own a Switch.
Another explanation is the game is far to complicated to be optimized for the Switch’s handheld mode. But if that’s the case, why not just make the game dock-only or have it be a cloud version.
